Solo travellers live their life and for themselves. I am one of them. I’ve been on many solo trips over the last 14 years.
I travelled to the Maldives alone last week, an ultimate destination for honeymooners and families. Of course, it would have been great if I had a companion with me. But nothing has ever stopped me from having my own pleasure. I had a fantastic and mystical fun time on a private island with white, sun-kissed beaches and overwater villa.
Hey you! Go on solo adventures to find out where you belong..
I always believe that every person should hit the road at some point alone. Being a solo traveller..
- You only tailor to your own time and needs when traveling solo
- More time to fully appreciate what you are experiencing
- You may discover a hidden passion while on the road
- Sometimes, you even discover a new perspective or clarity of mind in making life decisions
- You learn so much about the world including yourself
- You will change and improve as a person
Here’s one of my biggest takeaway as a solo traveller:
Meeting new people are daily chores when you travel alone and teaches you how to be curious and communicate better during small talks. Being an avid solo traveller, you will be able to contribute to interesting conversations, sharing travel tips and sometimes they could lead to exchanges about dreams and inspirations.
As much as I am the introvert type, I loved talking to strangers while on the road. Travelling solo also allowed me to experience how helpful others can be. People are kinder than we realise as we tend to set barriers when we are at unfamiliar territories. Facts of life ~ sometimes you’ll find yourself in situation where you have to put your faith in strangers but not the person you are closest with.
Maldives is comprised of over 1,000 coral islands that are grouped as 26 ring-shaped atolls. Maldives has long been considered as one of the most popular getaways thanks to its breath-taking coral reefs, powdery white beaches and crystal clear waters.
** Choose the island you want to go wisely. Each private island or resorts offer completely different view and experience. Check on the transportation options and the availability. Do some research on the do’s and don’ts. And off you go.
Begin doing what you want to do now. We don’t live in eternity. We have only this moment.
